Day Out with Thomas

Experience New Zealand's only Day Out with Thomas - featuring The Fat Controller

Next Event: Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th of March 2021

This is a fabulous event for the little "Thomas" fans (and the family too!)
Join Thomas & Friends™ to enjoy train rides and take part in many Thomas-themed activities, most of which are free when you purchase the Event Pass.
Thomas the Tank Engine will be offering rides in his trucks. His friends Rusty and Bulgy will be there. Bulgy will be taking passengers on trips around the beautiful local countryside. And of course the Fat Controller will be in charge for the day.

What's On

Face painting, storytelling, bouncy castle and other fun activities will be available free with your Event Pass.

A wide range of Thomas & Friends™ merchandise will be on sale, with hot and cold food and drinks available to purchase onsite.

Two trains, one diesel and one steam, will be operating 12km trips over the Glenbrook Vintage Railway Line to Fernleigh and return, departing at 30-minute intervals. The first train departs at 9.30am, with the last train departing at 4pm.

The site is open from 9am – 4pm. Scheduled train times are below and you will receive an information handout upon entry. We recommend that you allow 3 hours for your "Day Out With Thomas".
