Take your group beyond Glenbrook. Our heritage train can operate over much of the New Zealand National Rail Network, creating a private rail experience built around your destination, event or itinerary.
With capacity for up to approximately 350 passengers, our mainline fleet includes vintage wood-panelled balcony cars and more contemporary heritage carriages. Previous charters have included private rail tours, transport to major community events and conference movements.
Our team has extensive experience operating heritage trains on the national network and is licensed to provide its own crew and equipment. We can also work with tour organisers and travel trade partners, including wholesale arrangements for selected New Zealand rail tours.

Filming & photography with a real railway.
Glenbrook Vintage Railway is a working heritage railway and a highly flexible filming and photography location. Productions can access real railway infrastructure, stations, locomotives, carriages, workshops, platforms and heritage props in one location.
Because we operate our own railway line and trains, we can offer a level of control and customisation that is difficult to achieve on an active public network. Trains can be positioned, moved and operated to suit a shot or sequence, subject to safety and operational requirements.

For celebrations, coach groups, corporate events and private functions, a charter on the Glenbrook Vintage Railway gives your group a heritage train and timetable built around your visit.
Choose from steam or diesel traction subject to availability, with vintage flip-over seat carriages, lounge and dining vehicles available depending on your group and occasion. We can also discuss hosts, catering and other additions.
