Counties Energy Christmas Lights - Trains at Night

Celebrate christmas with lights, cheer, trains, and a visit from Santa!

Next Event: December 2022

Unfortunately, today we are announcing the cancellation of the extremely popular Counties Energy Christmas Lights - Trains at Night event for 2021.
We know this will be very disappointing for those who were looking forward to attending this magical family event. Our event in 2020 attracted over 16,000 visitors over 10 nights and has grown in popularity every year since our first event in 2018.
We have been closely watching government COVID-19 advice, however we are sadly unable to hold an event of this scale under the Traffic Light Red event restrictions.
We thank Counties Energy for their continued support of this event, and we will be working together to bring you the Counties Energy Christmas Lights ÔÇô Trains at Night event in 2022.

Glenbrook Vintage Railway will again be lighting up Franklin with festive cheer this year with its award winning Christmas experience.

The Counties Power Christmas Lights - Trains at Night event will see the charitable organisation's trains, station and buildings dressed in Christmas lights, a special Christmas Express train service, visits from Santa, a Christmas market and much more.

The Counties Power Christmas Lights - Trains at Night will run from 10-12 and 16-23 December in the lead up to Christmas from 6pm till 11pm.

The event will be open from 6pm till 11pm with trains departing approximately every half hour to the workshops and return.

There will be a Santa's grotto, night markets, train rides, entertainment and lots more. Check out the video from last year's event below.

Sensory Friendly Night - Thursday 16th of December 2021

We are once again offering a special Sensory Friendly Night for families with sensory needs.

Trains will be hauled by our quieter Heritage Diesel locomotive.
Music will be turned off, flashing lights minimised, and other lights dimmed where possible.

Santa will be in attendance, however there will be minimal food and other market stalls. Our standard cafe and souvenir shop will be open.

Numbers are strictly limited to 250 tickets and therefore tickets are ONLY available online.

We hope that this Sensory Friendly Night allows families to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere and train ride with reduced sensory input.

General Admission $10.00 (Ages 2 and older)
Under 2s free

Your ticket entitles you to one return train ride and site entry.
