The Journey

Travel from Napier through Hastings and into the heart of Central Hawke’s Bay aboard the Waipukurau Wanderer. Enjoy a complimentary snack as your window fills with wetlands, farmland, and rolling countryside.

Experience the climb over the famous Opapa Bank as our classic diesels tackle the gradient before crossing the Tukituki River into Waipukurau.

Spend just over an hour exploring boutique shops, cafes, and local culture before returning by rail in the afternoon.
