The only way to ride through the Mighty Manawatu Gorge today! Pack some snacks and jump onboard your very own exclusive heritage train taking you through the Manawatu Gorge.
With a convenient after-school departure time, this is a rare opportunity to spend the afternoon with us traveling through the Manawatu Gorge, taking in its beauty which we all took for granted when we could drive our cars through there.
Sit back and relax, bring a camera and some snacks too and enjoy this short journey from Palmerston North to Woodville.
At Woodville, be sure to watch our train turning around on the ÔÇ£balloon loopÔÇØ, this is quite an interesting way to turn an entire train, which is unique to Woodville only.
On the way home, those sitting in the carriage on the cliff side of the gorge on the outward leg will now be on the gorge side of the carriage (thanks to the balloon loop at Woodville!), so everyone should get the opportunity to see the massive slips that closed the gorge indefinitely and to take in what the gorge looks like from the rail side.
You will arrive back into Palmerston North at 6.30pm, just in time for a late evening dinner for the kids and time to share stories of the awesome sights you enjoyed with us today.
