We are offering the rare one-off opportunity to travel behind an original New Zealand Railways Steam Locomotive on the homeward journey back from Ohakune/National Park/Taumarunui to Hamilton and Auckland.
This is an exciting and surprisingly affordable way to experience the best of the North Island Main Trunk by Steam Train. There may also be an option to travel on an additional special train trip from Ohakune to Feilding and return on Saturday - a full weekend of heritage rail travel!
Please note: The nature of heritage steam locomotives is such that steam haulage is subject to availability of the locomotive, crewing, and final logistical arrangements. If for whatever reason we are unable to provide a steam locomotive then a rebate of $40 will be offered to you on your fare.
Timetable subject to variation required by KiwiRail prior to departure.
